Josh began working at AFSI eleven years ago. He started out as a Buyer, then progressed to Senior Buyer and is currently our Global Procurement Manager. Every day in his job, Josh works with many suppliers globally. Each day brings a lot of variety for him, which he enjoys. Primarily, Josh is focused on discovering ways to bring our raw material costs down. Along with the rest of the Procurement team, Josh is also focused on things such as sourcing strategy, supply risk management, supplier performance management, supplier capacity and tooling management, and managing supplier relationships.
The aspect of Josh’s job that he most enjoys is coming up with ways to save the company money. It’s always a great sense of accomplishment when those savings get implemented. He enjoys AFSI’s culture and people the most about working here. We have a great team of people to work with, and the culture is one where people are valued. Josh is most proud of being a part of our RPM project in 2019, which helped launch a more focused effort on supplier cost savings at AFSI that has continued on ever since.
His favorite hobby is watching his kids enjoy their various sports/activities. The best piece of advice he has been given: “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” – Wayne Gretzky – Michael Scott (from the Office). Another piece of wisdom from a previous boss is, “Don’t just come to your manager with problems, always come with solutions as well.”
